who are we?

Holy Trinity Church is one of forty-two (42) congregations in the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane, which includes all of eastern Washington and the panhandle of northern Idaho. The Episcopal Diocese of Spokane is one of one-hundred ten (110) dioceses in The Episcopal Church (TEC), our “national” (now inter-national) body, which is governed by the General Convention and recognizes our Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. Katherine Jefferts-Schori, as our chief priest and pastor.

Just to make things more confusing, TEC is also divided up into groups of dioceses known as “provinces” — regional groupings such as northeastern, southeastern, midwestern, southern, western, caribbean/latin american, etc. The Diocese of Spokane is part of the eighth province (ProvVIII) of TEC, a consortium of seventeen (17) dioceses and one area mission, encompassing the most culturally diverse province of both TEC and the Worldwide Anglican Communion (WWAC). Wait, it gets worse, TEC is also one of thirty-eight (38) “Provinces” of the WWAC.
