what’s new in the new year
As we prepare for the arrival of Emmanuel–God-with-us–we also prepare for a transition in our life together at Holy Trinity. I want to share with you some of the details–what January (and beyond) will look like when Fr. Paul begins his full-time position serving the diocese as congregational developer.
Paul, Erica, Isaac and Owen will continue to call HT home, offering their considerable gifts to our common life. Paul will preside at Eucharist twice a month. we plan for the other Sundays to be tended by priests who are not just acting as supply clergy but will become a part of our community at HT.
Along with a team of leaders from our congregation, I’ll tend the daily oversight of our parish life. As I finish my work at Spokane Community College, I’m gradually taking over some key tasks at HT, including the newsletter beginning with this week’s issue. I’ll finish up at the college on December 15, and as of January 1, I’ll be on staff at HT as a part-time urban missioner. In addition to Sundays, I plan to be available half-days Monday through Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as my weekend.
It has been an amazing three years at HT–a wild ride from Good Friday to resurrection. We’ve responded with integrity to God’s call for us. Now there’s more to be done. The next stage of HT’s life will engage the gifts of every person who calls HT home as we continue to grow into the church the world needs in this time, in this place, and with the people God brings to us.
If you have any questions, please call my cell at 701.1826. And remember, I’m always up for some God-talk over a cup of coffee.
Blessings,
Kris
