So Jesus asked the twelve, “Do you also wish to go away?” Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6

As we come now to the end of our five week ‘season of bread,’ in which the theme of Jesus as the Bread of Life has played prominently, it’s worth clarifying for ourselves what we ‘take away’ from these lessons — namely, that nothing in the world feeds us the way Jesus does — not fame nor fortune, not skill nor success, not praise nor adoration — but Jesus alone, who gives us each day our daily bread. And just what is that daily bread?
