upward boundduring the end of june and into july, the Upward Bound program from Idaho’s Silver Valley will be taking up residence at Camp Cross, where they’ll participate in their own programming, and will join us at Holy Trinity on Wednesdays, June 24th to July 8th.

this relationship between Holy Trinity and Upward Bound is the fruits of UB’s new service learning component, which places young, first-generation college-bound students into the role of examining and attending to community needs.  this initiative is intended to put the students’ own experience of ‘upward’ efforts into the context of the shared, and often unrealized, efforts of many, many others.

the UB students participated in an orientation session with fr. paul the afternoon of Wednesday, June 24th and also stayed to participate in the dinner table meal that night.  the students will continue to serve as volunteers on Wednesday, July 1st and Wednesday, July 8th.
