monthly men’s night out — 3/26 @ 5:30pm

join other men thursday night, 3/26, @ 5:30pm at O’Doherty’s Irish Grille — 525 W. Spokane Falls Blvd. — for our monthly men’s night out. This is a chance to get out with the guys and to have a great (divine, in fact) reason to do so. Who can say ‘no’ to burgers & beers for God?

monthly young adults & families dinner — 3/21

The next young adults & families dinner is scheduled for Saturday, March 21st @ 5pm. The dinner will be hosted by Greg, Melissa, and JJ Larratt — 6702 S. Shelby Ridge (in Eagle Ridge). The Larratt’s will provide the main course of corned beef, cabbage, and mashed potatoes, in honor of St. Paddy’s Day.

weekly reflection: lent 4b

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life. John, ch.3

Watch almost any major sporting event on tv and you’ll likely see some crazed fan waving a “John 3:16″ sign in the bleachers — offering God’s good news of eternal life to those who believe. And, because the blessing comes from such a mundane source, we might presume its meaning to be self-evident, right? I mean, isn’t it perfectly clear what the Gospel is talking about? You know, ‘eternal life’? Cozied up somewhere, with our favorite people, favorite music, favorite food & drink? Forever? In a galaxy far, far away?
