EfM @ ht — info Sunday is 9/21 after 10am service
Ever considered learning more about Christianity, The Episcopal Church and your own faith? You might consider joining others in a new Education for Ministry (EfM) seminar that we are forming at Holy Trinity, Spokane.
EfM is a four year distance learning program of the School of Theology of the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. Participants commit one year at a time to meet regularly in seminars led by a trained mentor. Participants study the Bible, church history, theology and ethics. EfM is for the laity of the church and provides the basics of a theological education in order to develop knowledge and confidence about the ministry we all share. EfM teaches us how to think theologically, deepens our faith and our understanding of our Christian heritage, and provides us with a new confidence to be Christ’s minister.
We need a minimum of six (6) members to start the seminar. Course fee is $340 per year and scholarships may be available to help with tuition.
If you or someone you know is interested in considering EfM, please contact the Rev. Vern McGee at mcvern@gmail.com or 509.325.4552. Those interested may also contact Bob Runkle at rrunkle@gmail.comor 208.777.0815.
We envision this as a joint program involving members from Holy Trinity, St. Stephen’s or St. Andrew’s or from other faith communities. Depending on the location of those who decide to join the seminar, the final meeting location will be at Holy Trinity, St. Andrews or some other central location in Spokane.
